The Marble Creek Trail is the neglected sister-trail to the Ozark Trail. The OTA official Marble Creek section is 9 mile moderate difficult trail, a point-to-point from Marble Creek Campground to the Crane Lake trailhead with a loop around Crane Lake. The northern segment of the loop is more scenic, as it passes by the shut-ins above the dam and goes by some interesting geology. Currently, private land prevents the connection at the end of the trail in either direction. Per the Forest Service, This section of the Ozark Trail which eventually will total approximately 21 miles. New uncompleted segments of the trail pass through the Ketchside Mountain Conservation Area and exit the national forest to the south intersecting with Madison County road 431.
